By Air
 International flights arrive at Tocumen International Airport (PTY) in Panama City. However, local flights to Bocas leave only from Albrook Airport (PAC), which is at least a 30 minute taxi drive away. Allow 2 hours for this trip, as the traffic can be very bad. If you direct your taxi driver to take the toll freeway, then it should only take about 30 minutes. Negotiate your taxi fare first, as there are no taxi meters.
 If you are unable to schedule a connecting flight to Bocas on the day you arrive, we have found the Crystal Suites Hotel to be high quality accomodations at a reasonable price, but call ahead for reservations. It is also close to Albrook Airport, with a taxi ride costing approximately $3.00 to $5.00.
There are two airlines that fly between Albrook and Bocas, and both allow online booking: Aero Perlas, and Air Panama. From Albrook Airport to the Bocas del Toro airport (BOC) is approximately 2 hours by air, with two or three local flights a day. From the Bocas airport take a 5 minute taxi cab for $1.00 or less to J&J Water Taxi in downtown Bocas. J&J Water Taxi is one of several local services that provide the 4 minute boat ride from Bocas to the Buccaneer Resort dock on Carenero Island for about $1.00 or less.
By Land
 By car, drive from Panama City through the port of Chiriquí Grande to Almirante. An enclosed parking lot is available in Almirante for about $3.00 per day. By bus it is about 10 hours from the bus station located beside the Albrook airport to Almirante, and costs around $55.00. Once you arrive at Almirante, take the 30 minute water taxi from the harbor to Bocas on Colón Island, costing about $3.50. J&J Water Taxi is one of several local services that provide the 4 minute boat ride from Bocas to the Buccaneer Resort dock on Carenero Island for about $1.00 or less.
